Mrinal, the astute and compassionate homemaker of Streer Patra (The Wife’s Letter), the epistolary by Rabindranath Tagore, is seen sitting on the shores of Puri, Odisha, completing her letter. She decidedly severs her familial connections with her insensitive and selfish in-laws, and embarks on a journey of quest for greater fulfilment of her human life.

Faint voices, voices telling compelling stories, coming from the shores of other oceans, other bounds of the world reach her, transcending the barriers of space and time.

Four stories emerge from ancient mythologies showcasing great intellectual power, entrepreneurship and talents of four great women. Mrinal experiences the untold tales of Oenone of Iliad, Ariadne and Dido from Greek Mythology; and the story of Maharani Jana from Mahabharata. At the end, Mrinal reflects; rejoices at the glory and successes of these great women, empathises with their tragedies, and connects with their souls to find a true meaning of the mortal life.
