Parallel Lines
Parallel Lines, a festival of the finest Indian classical vocal and instrumental music is being presented by First Edition Arts in association with The Hindu at Jagriti Theatre in Whitefield Bangalore on October 12 and 13 from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Parallel lines is one of the flagship festivals from First Edition Arts and spans the entire arc and rich resources of Indian classical music with instrumental as well as vocal music in the Hindustani and Carnatic styles.
The festival features 4 stellar musicians and accompanying artistes from different parts of the country including Dharwad, Goa, Kolkata and Chennai.
October 12
The evening begins with a Sarod recital by the brilliant sarodiya Pratik Srivastava from Kolkata who will be accompanied by Debjit Patitundi on the tabla.
Vocal recital by the famous Hindustani Maestro Pandit Venkatesh Kumar. Pt Ravindra Yavagal on tabla and Pt Vyasmurthi Katti on harmonium.
October 13
A beautiful beginning to day two of the show by a Sitar recital by Vinayak Chittar from Goa accompanied by a brilliant tabla artiste Debjit Patitundi from Kolkata.
A Carnatic vocal recital by the renowned Carnatic vocalist TM Krishna. With Akkarai Subhalakshmi (violin) Praveen Sparsh (mrdangam) BS Purushotham (Kanjira)
