SwarTaal 2025
Swartaal 2025 marks another year of celebrating India’s rich classical traditions through a thoughtfully curated festival of music and dance. This edition brings together three distinctive performances that honour heritage while offering fresh creative interpretations.
The festival opens with Vaali Moksha, a dynamic reimagining of Parthi Subba’s Yakshagana classic, transforming the traditional Taalamaddale form into a visually powerful, movement-led retelling of Vaali’s fall.
It is followed by Taapita: Songs of Desire and Devotion, a four-part Bharatanatyam solo that journeys through love, longing, and devotion, supported by a live ensemble.
Swartaal concludes with an evening of Hindustani classical music by Kumar Mardur, whose soulful khayal tradition brings depth, nuance, and timeless beauty to the stage.
